Saying farewell: Arranging a funeral

A privileged part of our of parish ministry

Our parish is here for you in times of joy, but it also exists to offer hope and comfort in more difficult times. Leading a funeral is an important and privileged part of our ministry.

With compassion and sensitivity, we visit families, comfort those facing loss, discover what form of service they wish to use and help them to arrange it.

Non-regular churchgoers, are welcome to have a funeral in one of our churches.

At the service, friends and family gather to express their grief, give thanks for an earthly life now completed and to commend their loved one into God’s keeping.

No matter the size or scope of the service, we shall try to provide whatever you may require.

The Church of England has drawn up a comprehensive guide to arranging a funeral which you may find useful.

Please contact our Vicar, the Rev Anna Lumb, to find out how we can be of help at this difficult time.

  • Anna is able to take funerals at Huddersfield Crematorium.

  • We inter ashes at Green Cliff Cemetery too with a short service.

  • We work closely with our village Funeral Director, Radcliffe Funeral Services.
